DICKSON, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Middle Tennessee animal rescue is offering a reward after they said a person dumped a dog near an Aldi in Dickson.
Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue said they’re offering a $1,000 reward leading to the arrest of the person. A person told the rescue that someone in a Black pick-up truck may have dumped the dog.
An employee at Proverbs 12:10 said they spotted the frightened dog near Highway 46. The employee said the dog was frantically running near a four-lane highway with nonstop traffic.
According to the rescue, the dog looked like she had clearly been dumped.
“I did everything in my power to get her to come to me, but she was hysterical,” the rescue said. “I finally gave up when she was getting dangerously close to the highway.”
The animal shelter said two women, Susan and Becky, were able to trap the dog and get her to safety.
The shelter said they were thankful and named the dog after both women.
“She has been named Susan, and Becky will be her middle name,” the rescue said.
The shelter said they have no open fosters so they are paying to board the dog for now.
